The word syzygy refers to a rare occurrence when three astronomical objects align completely to produce a lunar or solar eclipse. This extraordinary event gave inspiration to the beginning of a new company. In 2005 founding partners, Julie Shanklin & Vincent DiGiorgio, recognized a need in the market for a premier event design company that was going to specialize in distinctly creative events. At the urging of clients and friends Syzygy Events was open for business! Starting with a select number of events Syzygy has grown steadily ever since.
In 2009 the team expanded to Syzygy Events International. Adding new partners, including Shannon Autry and Lindy Joubert, the company began a growth spurt that would catapult them to the next level. With no marketing efforts, Syzygy was rapidly growing with opportunities to service the hottest events in DC on their reputation alone.
It was during this time that they also identified a need to use their talents to give back to the city that had been so generous to them. Syzygy Events partnered with the Washington Humane Society to take their annual “Fashion for Paws” event to the next level. Now a “must-see” event on the DC Social Calendar Fashion for Paws sells out every year!
From here the team at Syzygy Events International is looking forward to growing their portfolio while remaining true to the passion that has guided them this far.
